THE DOJO
Boundaries are the distance at which I can love you and me simultaneously. — Prentice Hemphill
A dojo is a place of research
A place to research form into formlessness
Of the body, heart and spirit
To research is to live inside inquiry
To be in contact everyday with the mysterious forces that are beyond one’s individual self
And to come into contact with a collective body of practice

Strength, Length, and Flow with Emma
Every Wednesday 6:30-7:30pm in The Dojo
In this class, we'll explore the body through the lens of the meridians. These ancient energy pathways offer a map for understanding the connections between our muscles, fascia, emotions, thoughts, and energy.
Each class will focus on a different pair of meridians, and we will use a combination of fascia releases, resistance exercises, and yoga to cultivate strength, length, and flow throughout the whole body.
Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome! Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one. I'm excited to move with you!
Exchange:
$15 | sign up here
Facilitator:
Emma is a yoga and meditation teacher and writer based in Santa Fe, NM. After years of exploring movement and meditation in her own body, she started noticing patterns. Her curiosity led her deeper into the study of fascia, meridians, and the energetic body, where she discovered connections between the way we move, the way we feel, and the habits we carry through life. Her classes invite students to become curious about those patterns, using movement as a way to better understand the body and the stories it has to tell.

Therapeutic Breathwork
Join us in The Dojo for Therapeutic Breathwork every first Friday of the month from 4:00-5:30pm
Therapeutic Breathwork, or Conscious Connected Breathing is a practice that facilitates profound change. Through the practice of Breathwork, we integrate the physical, spiritual and emotional parts of ourselves. By listening to the body’s narrative, we can begin to heal.
This style of breathing is akin to holotropic breathwork; holotropic meaning “moving towards wholeness”. It is an active meditation, with the breath, that brings us into an expanded state of consciousness. This practice is held by musical accompaniment that supports the experience. Therapeutic Breathwork is a powerful tool for self exploration. As we navigate the emotional, physical, and energetic bodies, we allow what may be buried to arise, and be processed in a supportive container.
Breathwork is a powerful and accessible tool for those of us who struggle with anxiety, stress, depression, substance use, pain, grief, trauma, insomnia, and other challenges. It is also a great tool for cultivating self-love and empowerment. Breathwork transforms many lives, as it has my own.
We will be on the dojo mat, but please bring any items to set up your space for comfort such as blanket(s), cushion, sheep skin, etc.

Mythologies to Explore Rest, Sleep and Dreams with Dr. Chanti Tacoronte-Perez
Mythologies to Explore Rest, Sleep and Dreams
To welcome the fall season, we will explore the thresholds and mythologies surrounding rest, sleep, and dreams. Mythologist Joseph Campbell explains that a myth is the reenactment of a ritual. Throughout this exploration, we will engage our imagination to understand rest as a spectrum. Participants will take part in intuitive movement, yoga nidra, simple drawing excursions, sip on tea, and practice nighttime self-care techniques. Finally, we will approach the dream gates, where we will learn to incubate dreams and engage in creative dream journaling.
Some mythologies or mythological figures might be considered symbols of rest, sleep, and dreams, including The Forest, The Threshold, La Siesta, Hypnos, the Goddess Yoga Nidra, Briar Rose, and Baba Yaga.
I invite you to embrace the tranquility of the slower-paced season and become curious about these thresholds. By reimagining sleep as a sacred practice, we can transform our nightly rest into something profoundly meaningful. Let us remember that our dreams hold divine messages waiting for us to explore. This workshop is not about getting sleeping or dreaming “right”; rather, it's about exploring our relationship with the mystery of these thresholds.
This workshop is open to everyone, especially those who are interested in:
Exploring rest as a spectrum
Learning dream incubation and recall practices
Are curious about mythology and its symbolic wisdom
Reimagining the thresholds of sleep and dreams as sacred
Practicing yoga nidra
Discovering an embodied way of knowing
Connecting or reconnecting with your innate creativity
Dates: Sept 5 & 6
Times: 10am-5pm with 1 hour lunch break
What you will receive:
A Mini dream journal
A Creative dream journaling PDF
An optional follow-up dream check-in via Zoom
