OUR COLLECTIVE
Communal Eros is a return
A return to the truth of how permeable we are as humans
Fierce and fragile
Wholly interdependent
We need each other
Body to body
To grow, to develop and to activate change

Our Ethos
A primary principle of communal Eros is moving away from comparative gaze and into cooperative gaze. At Soma Collective we encourage an ethos of celebrating each other. We celebrate each other's struggle in practice and each other's vulnerability and honor the pause of integration needed to stay "in" the room. We give spaciousness to sovereign inquiry as that is what feeds collective engagement.

I believe to restore our collective inner integrity is to resurrect shared civility in action. Third spaces offer a training ground where people from a diversity of life experiences and pathways can come together and physically engage in somatic experience, playfulness and healthy effort.
My whole life I have trained, as a Division one athlete, as a martial artist and as a bodyworker. And through those environments I have been inexplicably faced with the range of my own humanity and the range of others. The compassion and willingness to hold one another in sincerity and fierceness lives in third spaces such as dojo's. I long to be in the temple of training daily because it has fundamentally changed my life and continues to.
Soma Collective was birthed from the longing to offer a bridge of shared Eros to the community of Santa Fe where all bodies have a place to explore movement, especially queer folks and women. And where a wide spectrum of quality teachers and facilitators can offer their wisdom, practice and continually hone their craft.

Co-steward, Director of Programming
Sarah Belpedio
I’ve long been nurturing a vision of a space where people can come together to receive nourishment. I am a hearth tender by nature, and it’s been a dream and a calling to tend space for community cultivation.
From as early as I could stand, I have loved the art of bringing people together around a table to ritually nourish body, mind and spirit. The invitation to co-steward Soma is in many ways an answered prayer, one I hold dear, with honor and reverence. How lucky am I and are we to have a space to pour our love into. A space to simply be ourselves.
You can find me in QiGong and YinWarrior every day or in The Sanctuary on Sunday’s hosting tea, talking erotic business and human design, and plotting to build a more coherent, just and beautiful world.
If you are interested in hosting a gathering or class at Soma, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
